Our view:
The HTC Hero(or T-Mobile G2 touch) is one of a few handset which currently run on the ultra-modern Android operating system. The system is designed to be user friendly and feature packed.
The handset comprises of a 3.2 inch touchscreen display with buttons controlling the home, menu, send, back, end and search key functions placed on, what can only be described as the "chin" of the mobile. (The angled part of the device). Unlike it's predecessors the HTC hero is a very solid build, loosing the plastic feeling from the likes of the Dream. ...

One major feature the phone incorporates is HTC Sense, a new concept from HTC which allows you to list all of your correspondance with a contact, whether it be by text, phone, email on Facebook or Twitter. Its as simple as finding the person in your phone book and pressing a button.
To keep you entertained HTC have given the handset a loudspeaker of respectable quality and sound as well as a 3.5mm audio jack, meaning you use your best pair of 'phones to listen to your Gloria Gaynor collection! There is also a 3.2 Megapixel camera should you wish to take pictures or record yourself singing along.
The Hero, being a modern smart phone, is packed full of every piece of connectivity money can buy. If your life, like ours, revolves around finding out what every other person is doing at that exact moment you can choose to connect to the web via HSDPA, Wi-Fi or EDGE. There are also Bluetooth and GPS thrown in for good measure!
Considering the HTC Hero is competing with the established name of the Apple iPhone it would be easy for it to appear and disappear from the market without even a second glance but the ease of the Android operating system, the addition of every type of connectivity going and the ability to view 'Flash' content on the web(something most smart phones lack) its sure to make itself know as, at least, a great alternative to the Apple monster.

Excellent piece of smartphone software and fun gadget now available on excellent monthly deals. Applications galore many for free, reactive screen and for its price I don't think it can be bettered. Easy to use, easy to navigate and personalise and just a bit different to other phones out there. There isn't much I can say to put it down but obviously there's always room for improvement!

Very easy to use and comes with the Android OS, which means that you can download all your applications free.

I used to LOVE my HTC Hero - the interface is great, the battery lasts forever, it's easy to use, easy to customize, nice and chunky so it won't break if you drop it... etc! However, after about a year of life the touch screen stopped working properly and I have to really jab it to make it work :( So, yes, buy it, but don't buy a second hand one, as it might already be on its way to breaking!
